In the ancient times, people were considered superior in comparison to animals. From the beginning of time people have been interacting with animals either as prey or as a domesticated species. Although people had no responsibilities to animals they still respected them, and conserved them like their resources. Egyptians were some of the first to worship animals as God like figures. Animals were considered property, as a gift from God. Through the centuries people continued to use animals for their personal use, such as food, transportation, and entertainment. As technology evolved, so did animal use. Starting as travel, then progressing to entertainment and before you know it animals were being killed for fun, with no point behind it. Hunters have used animals for a the thrill of the kill, for game and show. Sadly animal rights corporations have any impact until the early 1800's. Even then not many people listened to these corporations, they thought they were just crazy. Today so much has changed due to technology advancements. In recent years we have started to test drugs, medicines and cosmetics on cats, dogs, mice, rats, bunnies and monkeys. This is another form of animal abuse.
